Car Freedom Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026 Last updated: October 14, 2026
Jamie Gray ("we," "us"), operating as Car Freedom at carfreedom.net, explains here what personal information we collect and how we use it. Contact: legal@carfreedom.net.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (used for magic-link sign-in), your plan, and your sign-in history.
- Your activity: your watchlist, saved cars, alert settings, and the features you use.
- Payments: Stripe processes payments. We receive your subscription status, billing country and postal code, card brand, the last four digits of your card, and payment history. We never receive your full card number.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Cookies: essential cookies keep you signed in. A first-party cookie stores the campaign link that brought you here. We keep that cookie for 90 days. Google Analytics cookies measure site traffic (see below).
- Messages: what you send us by email.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- provide the Service and your paid features;
- send magic links, alerts, receipts, renewal reminders, and service notices;
- process payments, cancellations, and refunds;
- understand usage, fix problems, and improve the catalog;
- prevent fraud and abuse; and
- comply with law.
If you opt in, we send product news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information with service providers that work for us:
- Stripe (payments and billing portal);
- Vercel (hosting);
- Supabase (database, magic-link sign-in, and sign-in email delivery);
- Google (Google Analytics 4, for traffic measurement); and
- ImprovMX (email forwarding).
- Resend, which delivers our sign-in, account, and subscription emails, such as purchase confirmations, renewal reminders, and notices of changes.
- Helm, which receives one visit and one signup so we can see which post led to a paying customer.
We also share information when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business sale or reorganization. We may also share it when you ask us to.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to see aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited and how people find us. Google sets cookies and receives your IP address and device information. You can block analytics with your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). We treat Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of data.
If you arrive from a campaign link, we store the source, medium, campaign, content, the first page, and an anonymous id in a first-party cookie. When you create an account after that visit, we save those values with your account. When you start checkout, we send the campaign values to Stripe on the customer and the subscription. We also send one visit and one signup to Helm. This tells us which post led to a customer. We do not use it to show you ads on other sites.

Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your personal information by emailing legal@carfreedom.net. Depending on your state (for example Texas or California), you may also have the right to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and profiling. We do none of these. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying with "Appeal." Texas residents whose appeal is denied may contact the Texas Attorney General. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights.

Car Freedom is not for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We use HTTPS, access controls, and the security features of our providers. No system is perfectly secure. We will notify you of a breach as the law requires.
Changes
We will post updates here and change the date above. If we make a material change, we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect.
