800V Architecture
An 800-volt architecture runs the traction battery and drive electronics near 800 volts. Porsche describes what that voltage does on the Taycan.

Porsche's Taycan glossary says the Taycan is the first production vehicle with 800-volt technology, and that its drive components use that voltage. Porsche says that at the same power output, half the cable cross-section of conventional 400-volt technology is enough. Porsche says that choice saves about four kilograms in the Taycan, reduces transmission losses, and needs less installation space. [1]
Porsche's battery page says the Taycan uses a system voltage of 800 volts instead of the usual 400 volts for electric cars. It says this supports high performance, reduces charging time, and decreases the weight and space of the cabling. Those sentences describe the Taycan. They are not a charge-rate rule for every car whose text says 800V. [2]
A catalog match on 800V or 800-volt means the public text uses that phrase. It does not measure the pack voltage of that car, and it does not state a charging power. [1] [2]
