CLTC vs EPA Range
CLTC and the EPA tests are different driving cycles. A CLTC kilometer figure is not an EPA mile figure. This page does not convert one into the other.
Data as of October 2, 2026

China's GB/T 38146.1-2019 is the light-duty part of the China automotive test cycle. The standard record dates the release to 18 October 2019 and the start of use to 1 May 2020. A China Automotive Technology and Research Center text of the cycle names it CLTC, the China light-duty vehicle test cycle, and it defines a passenger-car cycle called CLTC-P. [1] [2]
U.S. fuel-economy rules in 40 CFR Part 600 use the Federal Test Procedure and the Highway Fuel Economy Test. The same part says labeling generally adds three more cycles. EPA's dynamometer page describes the Federal Test Procedure as the urban cycle plus a repeat of its first 505 seconds after a 10-minute soak. Those U.S. cycles are not CLTC. [3] [4]
A number labeled CLTC is the result of the Chinese cycle. A number on an EPA label is the result of the U.S. procedure. This page does not turn one into the other. Sources cited here do not give a single factor that works for every car. A catalog match on CLTC means the public text names that cycle. [2] [3]
